show
The museum was opened on 7 September 2002 and is dedicated to the production of salt by evaporation of sea water in the sun.
The production of salt is one of the oldest preserved traditional ways of making a living in the Pomorie area. The salt museum exhibition is housed in a small building in proximity to 2.5 ha of salt-making sites, where white gold continues to be produced. Visitors can observe the technological process of salt making first-hand and learn more about the ancient traditions and the way of life of the local population. The exhibition features photographs tracing the history of salt-making from the past to the present day.
